New Starter Pilots who select to play for the Colonial faction, begin the game in the Viper Mark II, the Colonials light Interceptor Strike class ship.

The ship originally could have been purchased for 100,000 Tylium if the player had selected a Raptor as their first ship. This was until the Raptor was removed as a choice and all new players would then begin in the Viper Mark II. The standard Viper Mark II can be upgraded to the Viper Mark II Advanced at a cost of 30,000 Cubits.

Ship DescriptionEdit

"Although designed over 40 years ago, the Viper Mk II remains an outstanding interceptor and space superiority fighter that's proved more than capable of matching the Cylon Raider in speed, agility and firepower. Recently, several of the fleet's Vipers have been rigged with small FTL drives to allow long-range operations.
As an Interceptor, the Viper Mk II can be equipped with more engine systems than other strike craft, increasing its already impressive performance."
