The Kraken was the name given to a unique Cylon NPC found during 2013's Winter Event, the Feast of Poseidon, where it could be seen patrolling high level systems of the Veil Sector and could be fought to gain event rewards upon it's destruction.
The Kraken and it's colonial counterpart, the C5-07 Poseidon, were added during the event to promote the final prizes of new ship paint skins for both the Aesir and the Fenrir, for players should they have completed all 4 of the Feast of Poseidon tasks by collecting mission items.
During combat, the Kraken would use Medium Range Cannons as well as Medium Range Missile Launchers. Similar to the Poseidon, it would also use Computer Debuffs to its target to lower players avoidance.
If a player defeated one of the Kraken NPCs, the player would receive Poseidon event items in their loot drops depending on which event week items were available such as Foodstuffs or Sacred Herbs.
